What is this secret mystery Called tongues? How can such a little thing hold so much power? Jesus tells his disciples to wait for the holy spirit to come and they shall be filled with power.
Well, let me tell you when the Holy spirit came they were set on fire filled with power and went out and turned the world upside down.
- The very first thing speaking in tongues does is build up our spirit man.“ But you, beloved, building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Jude 1:20 KJV. When we are born into this world our spirit man is dormant. It’s when we receive the holy spirit our spirit man becomes revived. Like a hot air ballon our spirit man begins to expand. The longer we spend time praying in tongue our spirit man begins to rise. We than find we have gone up so high our old demons can no longer touch us. They can’t hold on. We have entered into another dimension.
- The second thing speaking in tongues does is edify. To edify means to instruct or improve (someone) morally or intellectually. “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself” 1Corinthians14:4. As we speak in tongue our ears hear the word we speak. Even though our mind doesn’t understand what we are saying our spirit does. It is literally like getting a digital download. The longer time we spend speaking in tongue an amazing thing starts to happen, we begin to walk in the spirit. Our steps begin to become ordered by the holy spirit. We become aligned with our destiny. “it’s not by might, it’s not by power its by my spirit says the Lord”. We find the things that use to be hard for us become easy. Things begin to work out for us, without difficulty.
- The third thing speaking in tongues does is unlock our destiny and the mysteries of our life. For our destiny is already within us waiting to be unlocked.“ For he that speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries” 1Corinthians 14:2. Speaking in tongues is like Morris code. This is important because our two greatest adversary is our carnal mind and the devil. These two things are always waging war against our spirit for control. Speaking in Tongues bypasses the mind and the devil so nothing will hinder the plan God has for us. As we speak in tongues our spirit picks us the download and begins to translate and download it into our carnal mind. This is called revelation.
It is not enough to be a christian we have to be filled with the holy spirit and speak in tongues. If we don’t than we can never learn the mysteries of our destiny. Always struggling with the carnal mind and sin. Ask the holy spirit to fill you and give you the gift of tongues. Don’t stop asking until the holy spirit fills you. It took six month before I got filled, it took my friend one day. Carve out one hour a day to pray in tongues and than increase it. Break it up into 15, 30, minute increments. This is what helped me to start praying in tongues. You will find the longer you spend speaking in tongues your life begins to align and your spiritual senses increase. Most importantly if you haven’t already received Jesus as you savior take this step first. I ask you to take this step and watch as your life begins to change.
